it was from bookworms and number geeks. what's funny is, I almost went with a quote from Tinto y Café con Leche ... but decided not to at the last minute. that story was the first one i'd ever read of yours and enjoyed it immensely.

I'm glad that you liked Tinto y Café con Leche. I was almost certain it wasn't from there but I kept thinking of all the fics I could have mentioned coffee in and just couldn't place the quote.

I cheated because this is part of something bigger, but since I'm not sure if or when I'll finish it, I'll post the first scene here for you. I hope you don't mind the bits of 3x4 on th side.

"I have no talent," stated Heero, simply.

Duo rolled his eyes at him. This wasn't a discussion he was willing to lose. "Sure you do. Everyone has a talent."

"Mine are not interesting." Heero shrugged. "I don't see why I need to be a part of this."

"Everyone has to participate," Duo said, moving closer to Heero, under the shade of the tree. "Cat and Trowa said it. If you are not performing, you can't watch."

Heero grumbled and did his poor imitation of a pout. "It's a stupid idea."

Leaning over, Duo gave Heero a soft kiss on the lips. "It's not stupid. It's brilliant."

Trowa and Quatre had discovered recently that they both played instruments, and one afternoon, they had started to improvise. In the end, they had composed three flute and violin duets and wanted to share them with their friends. However, they didn't want to be the only ones performing so they had decided to hold a talent show.

Duo had spent three days laughing after hearing the idea, but he had to admit that it was very original and that it would at least be an interesting gathering. Now he was just trying to convince his boyfriend to participate. Trowa had gladly given Duo the task, saying that it was a boyfriend thing to do, not a best friend thing. Yeah, right.

"What is your talent?" asked Heero.

"You say that like I only have one." Duo smirked. "If you want me to, I can show you some of the private ones."

"Later." Heero said, giving Duo an appreciative look. "I want to know what are you doing for your performance tomorrow?"

Duo grinned. "You mean the one after the talent show?" Heero was just too easy to tease.

Heero glared. "Fine, don't tell me, but I won't tell you mine either."

"So you do have a talent?" Duo asked in a low seductive voice.

Pulling Duo closer by the shirt, Heero gave him a long kiss. "Everyone has a talent."
