This is
razberrycreme's fault. She made me do it. Completely her fault. I'm innocent. Yep, innocent!
Beginning
The part of the day Cow liked the most was grazing. It was peaceful, she could actually drift away from the other cows – who always picked on her – and get some nice alone time. When one lived in a barn one didn't get much alone time. Cow was busy, pondering what exactly what did the other cows saw in bulls when she bumped into something. She let out a long whine before raising her head from the shinny green grass to see what she had collided with. Her eyes widened when she noticed the thick trunk of a tall tree.
Confusion
It was beautiful! Tree was brown and green, rough to the touch and with those lovely leaves on top. Cow wondered if they were as soft as they looked, wondered if one day maybe she would be able to reach them. The next day, she returned to Tree, and the next, and the next... She didn't know why she was so drawn to it, but Tree was prettier than any bull she had ever seen. It was stronger, and bigger, and so erect, reaching up to the sky. Cow felt funny and weird inside. What was happening?
Transcendence
One day, Cow was lounging beside Tree, gazing happily at the few roots that could be seen peeking out of the grown. Suddenly something fell on her head. Cow was a bit slow – as most cows are – so she ignored the feeling until something else fell on her back, and then her tail, and then her ear… Finally, she looked up and saw the most beautiful thing ever. Small leaves, green and yellow and brown fell from the sky, reaching for her. She let out a long happy moo and rubbed her face against the leaves. They were soft indeed.
Adaptation
Tree liked her! The leaves were Tree's way to tell Cow that the feelings were mutual. Cow didn't feel so weird now. She ate one of the beautiful leaves, marveling at its taste, so similar to grass but yet so different. She felt honored that Tree would share that with her so she rubbed her face on Tree's trunk, and very timidly, poked out her tongue and gave the trunk one quick lick. Then something amazing happened. Tree let out a bit of sap. Cow watched it slide down the trunk, it looked so glistering and pretty that Cow couldn't stop herself and gave it another lick.
Acceptance
It the end, cow managed to make the farmer let her stay by Tree – farmers can be very accommodating when their best cow refuses to give milk. With time, Tree and Cow had formed a special relationship. Tree showed her in it's little ways how much it cared for her, and Cow never failed to rub against it in appreciation. Two small tree blossoms were growing next to Tree. They were beautiful and Cow made sure to take care of them, slowly licking their spotted leaves and petting their trunks so they would grow strong. The other cows still made fun of Cow but she didn't care. She was happy now, she had found her place.
