29. Melody
When Quatre played, anything he was feeling at the moment would be reflected on the melody; that was why some days Duo would ask for more every time a tune ended, and others, it would take all his will power to stay, even though each note tore him apart.
___
Sharon wrote me a comment for sentence # 18 (speed) about Quatre knowing the police on first name basis, so I wrote her a tiny drabble thingy. She told me to share so I'm posting it here with a repost of the sentence.
18. Speed
On clear sunny days, Duo enjoyed putting on a helmet, climbing on his bike and trying out his customizations on the long and empty back roads in the outskirts of the city; since he didn’t have much free time, Quatre tried out his vehicles on his way to work, which resulted in his lawyers getting him a tax break due to the outstanding amount of speeding tickets he paid a year.
____
Quatre slows down as he sees the police car, lights flashing, trying to keep up with him. Moving to the side of the road, he turns the engine off, lowers the radio and waits.
Moments later a policeman walks up to the car and looks through the window. "Morning Mr. Winner."
"Hey, Carl. I didn't know you were on duty today. Aren't Fridays your day off?"
Carl smiles and leans against the car door. "Yeah, but Mark's kid is sick so I'm covering for him."
Quatre frowns. "Is she alright?"
"It's just the flu."
The smile returns to Quatre's face. "Well, if you see him before I do tell him I send my regards."
"Will do, Mr. Winner." The officer puts the date in an already filled piece of paper and hands it to Quatre.
Quatre doesn't even look at the paper and puts it on the glove compartment, which is already filled with yellow tickets like the one he just received. "I hope you have a pleasant day, Carl. See you next week."
Carl tips his hat and walks back to his car. By the time he turns around, Quatre's silver Porsche is already gone.

Date: 2006-01-06 09:01 pm (UTC)The two scenes where Quatre plays in the seires are very telling about how he uses music. First he plays and Trowa joins him, and it's a beautiful melody, just after he found a friend. And then, he plays piano in Sank, the first time he can get near an instrument after ZERO, and it's such a sad tune, and of course, Trowa isn't there this time.
Hee, I'll stop babling now.
