Angels and Sex

Every now and then I find something that reminds me that I don't really hate this book and that there's a reason I'm writing my thesis on it.

The touch is light, soft and full of love. Love and yet something more. Much more. It promises delights of the earthly kind. Carnal and base lifed high by the absolution of love. Each touch is like the hand of God, joyous and filled with rapture. Each kiss as pure as a note from trumpet of Gabriel himself. They touch and taste, winding themselves around each other, shifting from angelic to earthly form and back. Their robes of the finest silk creating a bower to consumate all they are, all they can be, within each other. The heavens open over them showering the lovers with tears of joy at their union. They are beauty and light in physical form. Heaven and earth joined together as they should and always shall be.

He had read it somewhere, certainly he had read it. That once upon a time, when Angels were prone to roam the Earth, that they came down and courted the affections of humans. There was a term for the children that resulted, one that escaped Quatre at the moment. Christian mythology was not his forte, not even a vague interest of his, simply something he had followed as university classes required. Schooling now escaped, he had disregarded most of it. Shoving it into corners of his mind that housed old physics formulae and molecular structures of various substances.

So he was confounded, to be blunt, when he found an angel perched on his window sill. It was no sweet cherub or merciful creature of God. It was a warrior angel with a full mantel of chest armor. One of the types of angels that God would have sent to cleanse the Earth. It was the type of angel that wielded the power to punish in God's name, the kind people were meant to fear.

Quatre clutched the doorframe with one hand; the other came up to his heart, pressed against it and forced him to stay within himself.

"Why are you here?"

His wings twitched at the question. The angel turned and looked at him. His silver chest plate stained with a brown smear. Quatre felt a twitch of fear as he realized it was dried blood.

"To claim you as my lover."

I feel attention deprived, gimme a kiss :p
