That's why I wrote the Hiko story. There are only a few out there, and I figured if I wanted more, I'd have to write it myself!
Hiko is rather grandfatherly toward Kenji, although he's a bit young to be Kenshin's own father. He's only 13 years older than Kenshin. That means that when he found a 7 or 8 year old orphaned Kenshin, he was only in his early twenties himself. Not many young adventurous men would be that compassionate, to take in an orphan. I think that says more about Hiko than anything. He's a very honorable person, above and beyond everything else.
