I'm a sheep, and besides, I like this meme. Still, I'm not sure if you'll get many of the quotes since some of my favorite books are in Spanish and maybe the authors aren't as known in other places. I have the Spanish quotes with English translation, so you can read them. Each book here represents a different part of my life, and I love them all very much.

1. "Muchos años después, frente al pelotón de fusilamiento. El coronel Aureliano Buendía había de recordar aquella tarde remota en que su padre lo llevó a conocer el hielo."

"Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía, was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice." Cien Años de Soledad (One Hundred Years of Solitude) Gabriel García Márquez. Guessed by Arashi.

2. "En la tarde del 5 de enero, de pie en el umbral del café Guido y Junín, Bruno* vio venir a Sabato, y cuando ya se disponía a hablarle sintió que un hecho inexplicable se produciría: a pesar de mantener la mirada en su dirección, Sabato siguió de largo, como si no lo hubiese visto."

"In the afternoon of the 5th of January, standing on the doorway of the Guido and Junín café, Bruno* saw Sabato coming, and when he was about to speak to him he felt that an inexplicable fact would take place: despite keeping his eyes on his direction, Sabato walked pass him, as if he hadn't seen him."

3. "Vine a Comala porque me dijeron que acá vivía mi padre, un tal Pedro Páramo."

"I came to Comala because I was told that my father, a certain Pedro Páramo, lived there."

4."H___ P___ was a highly unusual boy in many ways." Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Guessed by Ked.

5. "She's plucking her bird of paradise of its dead branches, leaning around the plant every time she hears a car."

6. "The airplane plip-plopped down the runway to a halt before the big sign: WELCOME TO CYPRUS."

7. "Of Mans First Disobedience, and the Fruit
Of that Forbidden Tree, whose mortal tast
Brought Death into the World, and all our woe" Paradise Lost. John Milton Guessed by Raletha.

8. "Urania. No le habían hecho un favor sus padres; su nombre daba la idea de un planeta, de un mineral, de todo, salvo de la mujer espigada y de rasgos finos, tez bruñida y grandes ojos oscuros, algo tristes, que le devolvía el espejo."

"Urania. Her parents had done her no favor; her name suggested a planet, a mineral, anything but the slender fine-featured woman with burnish skin and large, dark, rather sad eyes who looked back at her from the mirror."

9. On an exceptionally hot evening early in July a young man came out of the garret in which he lodged in S. Place and walked slowly, as though in hesitation, towards K. bridge.

I know I'm going to regret this but...

Every person on your f-list gets to request a drabble from you. In return, they have to post this in their journal and write a drabble for you. Post all fandoms you're willing to write for. Your friends can pick a relationship, a story arc, a missing scene, commentary! Or pretty much anything they want, unless the author has previously mentioned that they will not write it. They comment with what they want, and you write drabbles and post it in your LiveJournal.

They might take some time, but I'll write them.

Fandoms:

-Gundam Wing
-Rurouni Kenshin

Anything else, you are free to ask but there's a chance I'll say no (like if I haven't seen the show).

^___^

Gundam Wing.

I'd like some interaction between Quatre and Dorothy. Friendship only, part of the Sandstorm timeline, missing scene connected to what Dorothy told Relena in the last chapter.

Thanks :)

I think I got an idea for this. I'll see what I can do :)

Dorothy is always fun to write.

#7 is Milton's Paradise Lost I believe?

And... I'm going to give in to the drabble meme.

How about a Kenshin & Sano buddy moment after Sano's gotten to Kyoto?

Or, if you prefer, something with Yohiko and Yutaro, maybe some moment with them meeting each other again as adults?

please? And thank you!

Yep, that's Paradise Lost! I'm writing my thesis on that book so i thought it was fit to include it on the list.

The Sano & Kenshin drabble is fine. Just tell me how far have you seen so I don't spoil anything. You can even give me the episode number if you want to. The Kyoto Arc is great and I don't want to give anything away.

And Yahiko and Yutaro sounds good too. I might write both...

Oh! Fun thesis! ^__^

I can't recall the exact episode number, but the last episode I watched last night had Sano fighting Anji at the temple with the six gates. Anji was just recovering after Sano had knocked him out. *is worried for Sanosuke*

And... *squee!* I really wanted to see more of Yutaro in the anime (I'm still hoping he comes back at some stage), so, thank you extra specially much if you do feel like writing both! ^__^

4 - Harry Potter ^_^

Must confess dunno which book specifically but Chambers of Secrets come to mind - this was the preceding sentence to how he likes doing homework and hating summer vacations?

Either that or i'm talking tripe....

Yes! it's Harry Potter, but not Chambers of Secrets, it's Prizoner of Azkaban. That's my favorite book so far, with Order of the Pheonix as a close second.

And yes, there is a part about hating the summer just after it, but I think all the books start the same way ^_^

#1 is One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, which happens to be one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE books. Omg, you have good taste in novels. I love quoting that book too. Except I read it only in English, so I missed it in its raw form...excellent excellent translation by Rabassa, though.

As for the fan thingie, he he he he, you know I won't pass up this opportunity =P I've always wanted to know...what happened to K+K after they leave the cemetary - that scene - after Jinchuu and how they got together! Hahah, I just want mush (I'm a loser like that), and no Kaoru-crying-pathetically because that's all I hear from the fics which K+K first get together !!

Yes!!! I'm really glad someone got that one! You have good taste too, that's a really, really good book. I haven't read it in a while but it's so good. Is one of those where you fell in love with the first sentence.

I haven't written K&K in a while so this is a great challenge for me.They are still my first love. *waves K&K flag*

I'll do my best. ^_^

Relena+Duo, friendship

*EG* There's this mug at my house, you see. It's my mother's best friend's mug that she uses everytime she is over. I think it'd be a perfect gift from Duo to Relena, a birthday present, maybe?

The mug is nicely shaped, flaring slightly at the lip and has a thin handle. It's an egg-shell white color on the background with childishly cute borders of lace, a stripe of pink and little flowers. In the middle are two little birds (again, very childish looking), standing cheek to cheek. The inscription of the mug starts over the birds:
"I THINK YOU'LL
LIKE THIS MUG.",
then follows up underneath them,
"CUZ IT'S GOT A LOT OF
FLOWERY SHIT ALL OVER IT."
