Gender Issue
Jan. 18th, 2004 11:33 pmIt looks like I'm a man.
The other day, my best friend told me I was a man wrapped up in a woman's package. I told another friend and he said that that explained it all.
He said that everything about me, that was girly, was related to my looks.
I started to think that there had to be something about my personality that was girly so I tried to make a list.
1) I like shopping, women like shopping, there for I'm a woman!
He: You like shopping because you like clothes. Clothes are something used for looks. It doesn't count.
2) I like using make up and... ok, ok, that doesn't count either.
3) I drink like a woman!
He: You drink faster than me and more than some guys I know. You do not drink like a woman.
4) I do have a Britney Spears album...
He: But you also think she is hot so that doesn't apply.
Me: But she is!
5) I don't like sports! There, I told you I was a girl!
He: That's the exception that confirms the rule.
That's when I gave up and he started his own list defending the idea that I'm in fact a man.
1) You don't care about diet products.
Me: But they taste awful!
2) You hate romance movies and you love good fighting scenes and big explosions!
Me: but the romance parts are so boring.
3) You drive faster than any of my male friends and are proud to say that you don't drive like a woman.
Me: But the truth is that most of them are terrible drivers.
4) You insist on paying and almost never allow someone to pay for you.
Me: but, but, but....
Good thing I really don't care about gender or this could be really frustrating.

Date: 2004-01-22 01:33 am (UTC)The current consenses with my friends (and boyfriend) is that I'm a gay asian man stuck in a white woman's body ^_^
It's worse for me though. I hate shopping, especially for shoes. I rarely wear makeup. I'd rather watch an action flick than a romance (even if I write sap by the crap load). And I'd rather watch a hockey game than almost anything ^____^...... Well except CSI. CSI...... over anything. ^__________________^
But, who cares? There's nothing wrong with it. ^_^

Date: 2004-01-22 07:52 pm (UTC)Random Hearts *shudders* I spent the entire movie looking at the fire detectors, the little red dot blinked every three seconds! Fascinating, isn't it?
I love CSI too! Some of my friends say it's too explicit. Come on, that's what makes it so special and different from other crime solving shows!
