Harry Potter Drabbles

A few weeks ago
thanfiction put up all the prompts that weren't filled for his "Who's Fic is it Anyway" challenge for a lazy challenge. He also offered extra points if people included a line from a musical in the drabble. I had forgotten about it and then remembered this morning so I'm posting the drabbles I wrote.
To Truly See
Characters: Lavander, Parvati and Trelawney.
Prompt: Lavender and Parvati, the truth about Trelawney.
"I see it clearly," Trelawney said while Lavender and Parvati leaned over the glass trying to see as well.
"There's a shadow coming, a darkness spreading."
Parvati shivered slightly and Lavander moved closer to her.
"Is it," Lavander hesitated, "is it you-know-who?"
"When the moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars," Trelawney said ominously, "then it'll be the time."
"The time for what, professor?" Parvati asked.
Trelawney gave them a long hard look and just repeated, "The time..." She stepped back from them and lighted another of those meditative herbal aids. Lavander and Parvati immediately said their goodbyes; they had learned that when the professor lighted one of her Meditative Seer Smokes she needed to be alone. It was the only way for her to get in tune with the sounds of the universe and be able to truly see. And of course, Lavander and Parvati understood.

Characters/pairing/prompts: Lilly/James, Snape
They were sitting side by side and Lily was smiling. She shouldn't be smiling, not with James Potter, not while their shoulders touched and she tugged a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
And there was Potter, looking unbelievably smug, moving closer to her, speaking rapidly and holding the attention of everyone near him, including her.
They all laughed at something he said, Lily throwing her head back, eyes sparkling while he looked at her and smirked.
"Is there something wrong with the food, Serverus," asked Regulus Black glancing at his empty plate. "Is veal not to your liking? Or maybe you haven't developed the taste for quiche yet?"
Potter's hand had come to rest over Lily's and she hadn't pulled away. She was still smiling.
Snape filled his voice with disdain, "Let's just say I loathe it all." And he turned his eyes away.

Midnight Stroll
Characters: Marauders
Prompt: Who has the missing piece?
"I didn't sign up for this," lamented Remus while he tried to get a very uncooperative James to walk.
"Me neither." Peter was practically drowned under the weight of Sirius and it was truly a miracle that he was managing to pull Sirius with him down the tunnel.
"You should have come earlier and you would have enjoyed yourself, Moony." The words were slurred but six years of friendship guaranteed that Remus would understand whatever James Potter said, no matter how pissed he was.
"You missed a wonderful night," Sirius added.
"A pity," Remus muttered, not at all convinced that he shouldn't be missing this part of the evening as well.
"There's still time," James announced, throwing his hands in the air. "The night is young, the sky is clear and--" And whatever else he was about to say was lost when he nearly collapsed to the floor. Remus caught him, more by reflex than by any misguided sense of loyalty.
"We need the map," Peter said as soon as they reached the end of the passage.
"Which one of you idiots has it?" Remus asked, adjusting James' arm over his shoulder.
The drunks gazed at each other in dazed silence.
"You lost it?" Remus exclaimed, almost dropping James.
"Gone," James lamented. "Departed..."
"So long, farewell, au revoir, auf weidersehen," said Sirius, waving goodbye with his free hand.
"If you pair of inebriated clowns lost the map," Remus said, trying very hard not to hex them on the spot, "I'll cast such a creative hex on your pricks you'll have a reason to turn to drinking!"
"Er," Peter's voice was soft. "I forgot I had it," he said sheepishly and cautiously handed the parchment to Remus.
Remus' eyes narrowed. He snatched the map quickly and took deep calming breaths, while he rubbed his temples. He clearly needed to revaluate his friendships.

The Dog Ate It
Characters: Ron, Molly and Hermione
Prompt: End of third year, Ron explaining to him parents how he lost Scabbers and ended up with an owl instead.
Ron let his mother hug him for all of five seconds before he pulled away embarrassed. They were still at the platform and he was quite aware that people could see him being treated like a baby.
"Mum!," he said, pulling away, his ears warm.
"Hello, Ms. Weasley," said Hermione suddenly standing beside Ron.
His mother gave Hermione a warm smile. "Well, hello. Nice to see you, dearie, how have you been keeping?"
"Wonderfully, thank you," Hermione replied politely. "It's been an interes--"
Whatever she was about to say was interrupted by his mother finally noticing the small owl on Ron's shoulder. "What is that."
"Er," Ron glanced at the owl. "It's mine."
"Yours? Where is scabbers?"
"Er," Ron said eloquently. "He died?"
His mother raised an eyebrow. "You are not sure?"
"Well," Ron scratched the back of his head. "A dog bit him."
"Don't be ridiculous, Ron, dogs don't eat rats."
Ron threw Hermione a panicked look.
"That's what I said," Hermione jumped in. "Apparently this one did. Quite strange."
"And it ate Scabbers?" his mother still didn't look convinced.
"Well, he certainly tried... Scabbers got away but I don't think we will be seeing him again," Hermione explained.
"Better not," Ron muttered before giving his mother a nervous smile.
"And the owl?"
"A present?" Ron said, turning his head to look at the owl. "The dog, er owner, felt bad about Scabbers and gave it to me."
"Oh." Molly considered the owl for a moment and then smiled. "That's sweet of them. I hope you are not too sad, dear."
Ron did his best to look gloom. "A bit."
"I'll just have to make you something nice for supper then," Molly said putting an arm around him.
Hermione threw him an annoyed look but Ron only smiled back. Sometimes, being treated like a baby wasn't so bad... sometimes.

Characters: George, Lee and others
Prompt: Troubadour
Hogwarts was quiet. Light shone through a cloudy sky as a group of people worked on the grounds. The bodies had been cleared long ago but the derbies of the battle was a hard reminder of what had taken place on the school.
"Maybe we should go," Lee Jordan said, while he used his wand to clear some stones from what had been one of the small gardens.
"They are depressing," George said, sparing a look to the dozens of volunteers that were helping with the reconstruction of Hogwarts. "We won!" Fred said louder. "Voldemort is gone!"
An elderly lady nearby gave him a disapproving look. "Respect, young man! People died here, what you see here is the result of the wicked workings of you-know-who."
"You can call him Voldemort," George said, by now he had the attention of almost everyone. "He's dead. This is where we made our stand, where we won."
"Voldemort wand is made of ash," Lee began to chant softly.
George smiled. "He liked to take it up the--"
"Outrageous!" cried the woman.
George ignored her. "Harry Potter fought him off, they had a duel and Voldy lost. Now he rots down in the ground, nothing more than a noseless clown."
"Clown?" asked Lee, raising an eyebrow.
"I know, pathetic," George lamented. "Fred would be appalled."
"What is appalling, young men, is your behavior!"
"The Dark Lord is no more so have a drink, we killed him off?" They all turned to look at Madam Rosmerta who was busy handing Pumpkin Juice to the workers. She gave them small shrug and continued working.
Another voice tried a rhyme and then another and another. By the time the old woman apparated away in a huff of indignation everyone had joined in and rhyme after rhyme rang through the destroyed school.
George smirked and leaned closer to Lee. "Do you hear the people sing? They are healing."
Lee nodded. "I think we all are."
