Wufei was amazed at how simple it was in the end. In his mind it was supposed to be harder, after all, his first relationship, long ago as it might have been, had been full of issues that never got the chance to be resolved. It stood to reason that a second relationship, one with another male on top of that, would have a shaky and uncomfortable start and an uncertain future.
As it was, things with Quatre were simple. The beginning hadn't been shaky; they had just fitted together, taking the first step into their relationship without even noticing.
There were problems sometimes, discussions, traits he knew Quatre wouldn't change and things about himself that irritated Quatre as well, but it was alright; as much as they argued, yelled or even ignored each other at times they always came back together, fitting as easily as before.
Wufei liked it. He liked that it wasn't monotonous, that it wasn't smooth, that it was just simple in a way that few things were in his life. He still didn't know about the future and he wasn't one to make predictions but as uncertain as it might be he didn't ponder about it too much. He was too busy with the present.
