"Billywig," Luna said earnestly. "A shame, really. They're wonderful lucky charms."

"A bug?" Harry asked confused.

"Oh yes." Luna tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear while looking around for the errant billywig. "Keeping one with you protects you from the evil eye, if you don't mind levitation, that is."

"And you keep this billywig with you at all times?" Harry asked, glancing around the room.

"I do try but billywigs get bored fairly easily. Billy doesn't take well to my Potion classes though he does buzz a lot on Charms." Luna bit the end of her fingernail thoughtfully. "Do you think he went to the Charms classroom?"

"Er." Harry scratched his head. "Maybe Billy will find you?"

"He probably will." Luna nodded. "And I've always wondered about the evil eye. I might get to experience it for myself before Billy comes back."

Harry smiled softly. "Good luck with that."

Luna paused at the door and gave Harry a curious look. "What a strange thing to say," she murmured as she left, closing the door behind her.

A few minutes later when Harry felt his feet leave the floor he wasn't at all surprised to find a bright blue bug perched on his finger.

He grinned. "Hullo, Billy."

I adore Luna. She makes every HP fic ten times better by simply being present. I think you captured her particular blend of oddness perfectly. And Harry's such a sweetie to humor her. ^^
