"So as soon as the guy notices that a guard saw him put the cheese inside his jacket, he starts to run, all around the supermarket."

Heero took a sip of his soda and nodded not taking his eyes away from Duo.

"And as the guy runs he starts to eat the cheese, package and everything!" Duo leaned back on his chair and laughed before sitting upright again and continuing. "By the time they got him, the whole thing was gone! There's no proof that he stole anything because he ate it!"

"Clever," Heero said and chuckled. Duo's eyes were shining brightly, he was grinning and his leg was twitching, like it did every time he got exited. It was one of the expressions Heero loved the most.

"You are smiling," Duo said. His leg had stopped moving but his eyes were still bright.

Heero took a sip of his drink. His eyes never left Duo's. "You look happy."

Duo laughed softly. "You pick the weirdest moments to say stuff like that."

"Is there an appropriate time?" Heero raised an eyebrow.

Putting his index finder under the corner of his mouth, Duo thought about it for a moment. "Hmm… I guess not." His leg had started to move again.

Very discreetly, Heero moved his right hand under the table and started massaging Duo's knee. He smirked. "Good. I like to be spontaneous."

Duo's mouth was opened and his eyes were huge. He made a weird noise that had some of the other people at the café giving them weird looks. Heero glared and they all went back to ignoring them.

"If this is an inopportune moment, I can stop," Heero offered, while his fingers brushed the back of Duo's knee softly. He took another sip of soda, slowly sucking on the straw between his lips.

"Don't stop," Duo whispered.

This, Heero thought as he looked at Duo's half closed eyes and parted lips, was his favorite expression, by far. It was good to know that if he wanted to, he could see it anytime, anywhere… with just the right encouragement.

Boredom
Summary: PG
Pairing: 3x4
Summary: Latin class isn't fun.
Written for [livejournal.com profile] merith
____

Latin class was boring.

Trowa looked at his watch for the tenth time and noticed that it had only been four minutes since he'd last looked at it.

Tempus Fugit

Yeah, right.

He was sitting practically in the middle of the room, which meant that he was too far away to distract himself looking out the window. That's what he got for being late. Still it was a tough choice. Ninety minutes with window or Seventy five minutes without it…

Trowa saw something from the corner of his eye. He looked up at the high small windows that were on the other side of the classroom; the ones that overlooked the hallway. Trowa didn't really know the purpose of those windows since the light came from the ones overlooking the mountains, and the hallway ones were too high up for anyone to see out or into the classroom.

After looking at the small windows for a moment without anything happening, Trowa went back to doodling on the margins of his notebook.

Again, something caught his eye but this time Trowa turned to the windows fast enough to see the top of Quatre's head. Trowa waited patiently until Quatre's eyes finally locked on him. Trowa raised an eyebrow.

Quatre smiled, waved and then started to point at the door before he suddenly disappeared.

How the hell had Quatre reached that window? Trowa himself could barely touch the ledge with his fingertips if he stretched his arms and stood on the tips of his toes.

Trowa looked at his watch again. There were thirty minutes left in class. Could he leave? He bit the cap of his pen. He wasn't going to fall behind. This class moved at snail's pace. The teacher was a nice lady but she was a sleeping pill. Besides, he was going crazy in here. He should just leave for the sake of his sanity. It had nothing to do with the fact that Quatre was waiting out there. Trowa was simply thinking of his mental health.

Placing his stuff on his back pack, Trowa stood up silently and walked out, not bothering to give any explanation to the teacher. The second he closed the door he saw Duo kneeling on the floor on his hands and knees, grunting, while Quatre stood on tiptoe over him. "I can't see him," Quatre said.

"That's because I'm here."

Quatre lost his balance and stumbled off Duo. "Don't do that again," he said, and punched Trowa on the arm.

Duo stood up and brushed his knees. "Finally, man! Q here isn't as skinny as he looks."

They started walking down the hall when Trowa asked, "Any special reason why you got me out of class?"

Quatre gave him a weird look. "Well, the text message you sent me begging me to end your misery made me think that you needed help ASAP."

Trowa frowned. That was this class? He could swear he had sent that message the last one. He must be loosing it. Cutting class was definitely a good thing. "Beer?" he asked hopefully.

"Hell yeah," Duo said.

"I'll buy the first round," Quatre offered.

"Propino tibi salutem" Trowa muttered and ignored the looks he got.

Yeah, a beer was definitely in order. He was getting too geeky for his own good. He just thanked the heavens Heero wasn't there. He would never hear the end of it.

Arabian Pipe
Rating: PG13
Pairing: 3x4
Summary: Quatre shows Trowa something new.
Written for [livejournal.com profile] hexadecimal00
____

"What is this place?" Trowa asked, pulling the curtains open.

"Katmandu," Quatre replied, walking past Trowa and entering the establishment.

The lights were dimmed and there was Arabic music sounding in the background. The walls were painted in lively colors, long elaborate lamps hung from the ceiling, Persian carpets covered the floors and there were decorations everywhere. A wooden elephant against a corner, a three feet tall backgammon set, a long colorful tapestry hanging on the wall…

Trowa followed Quatre to another room, smaller, more intimate. It was decorated like the first one, filled with different things here and there. There were short tables in the four corners and many cushions of different sizes around them. Quatre moved to the far one. There was a small wooden screen beside it, and when they were both sitting comfortably on the cushions, leaning on the wall, the waiter that had showed them in pushed the screen in front of them, so they were practically hidden from the rest of the room in their private little corner.

"Wow," Trowa said.

"I know," Quatre replied, moving closer to Trowa.

"You come here a lot?"

"A couple of times with Duo." Quatre must have noticed something in Trowa's expression because he quickly added, "not in this room, though. There's a bigger room in the back, for larger crowds and friends. Not so intimate."

Trowa smiled and wondered if the relief showed in his face. "So, what's good here?"

Quatre grinned. "Ever smoked Arabian pipe?"

Trowa shook his head and Quatre smile brightened. "You are in for a treat."

Trowa tried not to frown and just nodded once. The truth was that he didn’t like smoking at all. Heero had once got him to try a cigar and he had hated that too, but he didn't want to disappoint Quatre, so he was willing to try the Arabian pipe.

The drinks arrived first. Trowa and Quatre drank their beers, talking about friends and school. A few minutes later, the pipe arrived. Whatever Trowa had imagined, the tall, elegant and exotic looking pipe wasn't what he had been expecting. The waiter settled it on the table and left. There was a large glass bowl with water inside it, over it was a long tube and on top a single coal burned. Two pipes, lined with colorful threads and a plastic filter at the end, were connected to the tube.

"Try it," Quatre said, and handed him one of the pipes. "Suck on it as if you were drinking from a straw." He took the other pipe to his mouth and demonstrated. He exhaled the smoke slowly, and licked his lips.

Trowa gulped. It took all his self control not to push Quatre against the wall and kiss him then and there. He was tempted but he wouldn't let Quatre win, not without a fight. Slowly, he brought the pipe to his lips. He tried to smoke as if it was a cigarette, but nothing happened. Like drinking from a straw, Trowa thought, and did just that. The smoke wasn't very strong and surprisingly, Trowa wasn't disgusted by the taste, he actually kind of liked it. He exhaled slowly.

"Strawberry," said Quatre and took another drag. "My favorite." The smoke left his mouth as he spoke.

This time, Trowa held the smoke in his mouth for a moment. Quatre was looking at him. Trowa parted his lips slightly and let the smoke out. He had seen that look of desire in Quatre's eyes many times before, and he loved it.

Quatre had dropped his pipe on the table. Trowa took another drag, held the smoke and pressed his lips to Quatre's. Quatre parted his lips, the smoke entering his mouth and exciting through his nose as they kissed. Trowa pulled back and smirked. He handed Quatre his pipe and took a swig of his beer. He liked this game, and they had the entire night to play.

*squee* I just adore this not-an-arc. I hadn't read the Arabian Pipe one before, and it's lovely: exotic and sensual. I like to see Quatre show Trowa new things; it's a nice contrast with the more common portrayals of Trowa as the experienced, jaded one and Quatre as the innocent idealist.

I'm so glad that you like the not-an-arc, its fun to write.

I'm happy that I managed to make Arabian Pipe exotic. The ambience was very important to me so I'm glad it worked. And I'm sure Quatre had many, many things to show, just like Trowa. That's what makes them so fun to write.

Thank you so much for the comment. *hugs*

I missed the Arabian Pipe one the last time around. I love it, and the whole way they are watching each other. Very them.

Very nice! The arabian pipe was very sensual and latin class cracked me up! *pets Heero* There are no appropriate moments. Just go for it.

I really adore this not an arc.

Thank you! I'm glad that I managed to make Arabian Pipe sensual. That's what I wanted.

This is a fun not-an-arc to write, and it's great that you enjoy it too.

You definitely know how to write a great AU, that's for sure. I'm always really impressed with how well you keep everyone in character in totally different settings than the original Gundam Wing. They are all so very real, without being stereotypical - Heero bends and cuts class once in a while, Duo is not an idiot, Trowa is rather snarky, and Quatre has a lovely sense of sensuality and humor. They are all fun to read about because you seem to know your characters very well. And another thing:
"And as the guy run he starts to eat the cheese, package and everything!"
Should be runs. Man, I am annoying - once a beta always a beta I guess *headdesk*.

Corrected. And you are not annoying. Thank you. It helps me that you spot these things that go right pass me.

Thank you! When I write AUs that's the most important thing to me, to keep true to the characters, so it makes me so happy that you think it works. They are really fun to write, so I'm glad you are having fun too. ^_^

Wanna guess what _I_ thought when you mentioned an Arabian pipe? *drags mind out of gutter* It's Anne's fault - hers and Lil's. They've corrupted me. *nods*

My fave out of the three, though, was definitely the middle one - I love the line about Trowa having been certain he sent the text message in the last class, and how Heero would never let him live it down if he found out. *g* Very excellent.

*cuddles you* It sounds like something they would do. They've corrupted me too. *innocent*

*pets Trowa* Latin class can do some damage to the brain. And Heero would tease him forever if he found out Trowa spoke latin outside the classroom, even if it was just one tiny sentence.

*snuggles in close* Yeah. They're evil that way.

I always wanted to take Latin. It seems like such a useful language when you're in literature. That and Old English - but I took a couple courses of that. (Of course, I've forgotten most everything I knew, but I remember enjoying the classes and I still have the books.)

I don't usually like anything with smoking, but that last drabble was very sweet and sexy!

Thank you! I have to admit I do find smoking sexy, under the right circumstances and stuff. I'm glad that I managed to make this sensual, even for someone who doesn't like smoke.
