- To the Sims players on my f-list: Do you know how to make a gay couple work? I don't have the game, but my best friend just bought Sims (1) and she tells me that no matter how hard she tries, the best she can do with same sex partners is friendship. Is there a special code or something?

- Also, I have some G-mail invites. If anyone wants one, just let me know.

- And a warning: I'll be spamming LJ the rest of the year with Christmas gifts, so beware.

I don't think you can really have a gay relationship in Sims 1 like you do in Sims 2. I know you certainly can't be joined or start a family. Sims 1 just wasn't that politically correct in that aspect ^_~

Altho I have to say that I've never really tried a gay relationship going so I'm not entirely sure if it's possibly at all in Sims 1. Maybe you just need to work harder at it?

I hope I'm remembering it right, as I've not played Sims 1 in ages. If not, sorry for giving bad advice. *meep*

In Sims 1 you can't have gay couples get married per se, but you can have them fall in love, kiss, play on the make-out bed and basically do everything else a straight couple does. They can also adopt children (anybody can adopt children. Every once in a while every household will get a call from the adoption service asking if they'd like to do take in a little rascal.) Oh! And, if they live in separate households and love one another enough, they can move in together.

Now, if she doesn't have the Hot Date expansion pack she won't have the make-out bed (I think its real name is "Love Bed") so that might help her to feel that her couple is more committed or more together. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. I was pretty addicted to that game LOL so if she has any more questions, I can possibly help. ^_^

So far the best suggestion I can give you is to make them have the same astrological sign, but I haven't played in awhile and I had only discovered this working so I don't know how far my gay couples have made it. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the advice. Someone told me that she needs to download a special thing to be able to have gay couples. I'll pass the information to my friend. Thanks a lot for replying.
