Writer’s block
The epilogue of ‘The Findings of Earth’ is giving me a hard time.
I know exactly what I want to write, I had it planed for months! But now, I try to write it and I haven’t been able to write one sentence I like. I’m late; I should have posted the epilogue this week but I’m having such a hard time with it. I don’t want to post a mediocre ending just because I didn’t take the time to write it the way I wanted it to be. I’ve been writing this story for a little over a year (and even more if you count the prequel), it deserves a good ending!
It also deserves a good beta read but I’ll worry about that later.
*hears the song playing* I think my MP3 player is trying to give me some advice...

I think you were following it. Anyway, it's going to be on Found Treasures, Anne's new website.
Sorry I flaked out on posting the rest of "Apprentice". I simply got busy and forgot. I'm bad!
Don't worry so much about sentence structure on your story, just get it out of your head and fix it later.

Thanks for the advice. You'll make me a really happy person if you post more 'Apprentice' at S&E. A good RK story may be what I need to get some inspiration.

Must write more Kenshin someday. I miss that little "Oro" guy.
I had a Hiko story plotted out. I kind of went with this Omasu/Hiko pairing in Apprentice and wanted to expand on it.
I was afraid it would become a bit Mary-Sue-ish, because I'm a slobbering Hiko fan-type-woman.
Oh, well, as long as I don't call her "Gina" I'll be all right.

And says. "I don't think I'd like a hug from a man, stupid apprentice!"
Although there are times when he is quite wonderful and wise with Kenshin. And even loving, in his own way. Such as at Tomoe's grave when he finds Kenshin crying in the rain.
He's so funny! But, people think his horribly sarcastic humor is mean. I find it.... the perfect counterpoint to Kenshin's earnestness.

I love the 'baka deshi' thing, how confident is Hiko and the parts when Kenshin is training with him before fighting with Shishio. Kenshin training has to be one of my favorite parts of the series. Hiko cares about Kenshin but also works very hard to hide it...
That's why I like your story so much! You have Hiko, Kenshin and Kenji! There are so few good Hiko stories. So go and post more soon! I promise I'll give you feedback!

Hiko is rather grandfatherly toward Kenji, although he's a bit young to be Kenshin's own father. He's only 13 years older than Kenshin.
That means that when he found a 7 or 8 year old orphaned Kenshin, he was only in his early twenties himself. Not many young adventurous men would be that compassionate, to take in an orphan. I think that says more about Hiko than anything. He's a very honorable person, above and beyond everything else.
