I spent the last few days eyeing this story with longing. First, I'd promised myself to stay away from it until I finished my own late entry... And now, after staving off much situational-induced angst, I've gotten the chance to sit down and relish this story without distractions.
"Prelude" was sweet and realistic. I have to say that all the requests I made were satisfied twice over.
I felt for Quatre. Having his wedding be seen as something political rather than personal... Kudos to Heero for knowing what his man wants and deserves. ^_^
My heart went out to Duo and the Maguanacs. Dealing with Quatre's sisters? It would have been a Village of the Damned scenario....All that blonde hair and a collective temperament with a clear agenda...The tent sounds like a good place to keep one’s sanity intact.
Wufei is deliciously badass without losing his sensitivity. He's working the protective older brother role well. (~shakes head imagining what would happen to anyone who'd dare to oppose him...~)
I love Dorothy and Relena in this. They seem more interested in moving around as guests than being concerned with Heero and Quatre. There was nothing lost or gained with Heero and Quatre's marriage. Independent Women ^_^
{{{{"Duo should have the shuttle ready by the time we arrive," explained Heero. "Wufei said he would make sure, Relena, Dorothy, Hilde, Sally, Lady Une and Marimeia get there in time. Noin and Zechs sneaked out in the middle of the ceremony to get a head start and make sure everything is in order when we arrive. The Maguanacs and Catherine promised to cover us, and Trowa is waiting for us in the car. Let's go."}}}}
As Hannibal from The A-Team used to say: “I love it when a plan comes together.” You know you have true friends when they've taken of transportation, escape routes, and subterfuge without you having to ask. ^_^
~Hugs Misanagi~ This was exactly the read I needed.
