"What do you see in him?"

Quatre gives the board member a stern look. He stands up, slowly, keeping his movements fluid and his eyes on the old man. He has been taught from a very young age to treat his elders with respect but there are times when such teachings should be ignored.

"I see beauty," Quatre says, his tone firm but there's kindness there too. "I see care, I see strength and intelligence, courage and vulnerability, humor, friendship and love." He looks down at the old man, ignoring the rest of the board but too aware that he has their rapt attention. "I'm lucky. He lets me see."

"But Mr. Winner," the man speaks nervously, "he's your bodyguard. We don't even know who this Trowa Barton is."

"And you never will," Quatre's voice is cold as ice. "But you will show him respect or you will get to see a side of me you don't know either."

The man pales and Quatre knows he has seen a little, a glimpse of what Quatre is capable off. The board member bows his head and doesn't speak again. And like that, the subject is closed. Trowa never needs to know.

I like this one a lot. The idea of Quatre seeing sides of Trowa no one else sees appeals to me almost as much as the idea of Quatre showing the board member his more dangerous side. This was very nicely done, Mis!

Thank you, Sharon. Quatre might be polite and nice but don't mess with the people he cares about. Very dangerous thing to do.
