"It was a dream, a beautiful endless dream."
"What?" Duo raised his eyes from the magazine he was reading and gave Quatre a look.
"A beautiful endless dream," repeated Quatre, his eyes fixed on his own magazine.
Duo looked over Quatre's shoulder to see a picture of a beach, with a single palm tree and a couple watching the sunset, their arms around each other's back. "What?" repeated Duo.
"WEI owns these hotels," said Quatre, not taking his eyes away from the picture and the short article below.
"Uh huh?"
"I was actually thinking of going there my next free weekend…"
Scratching his head, Duo let out a sigh. "And you want it to be your perfect mushy endless dream?"
Quatre shook his head. "Actually, they have a river with level four rapids and I thought it would be fun."
"Quatre, buddy, you need to remember that I'm not inside your brain and I don't always understand your incoherent ramblings."
"The article," Quatre said poking the magazine with his index finger. "This was supposed to attract people to the hotel, show how versatile it is, but instead, someone wrote this!" Quatre started to read, glaring at the magazine, "It as a river of sunshine and a sea of colorful illusions that would lighten the hearts of every person with its surreal charm. My time in Rainstar Hotel was a shimmering glow of bright experiences. It was a dream, a beautiful endless dream."
Duo blinked a few times. "Fuck."
"Yeah, fuck!" Quatre was clearly displeased with the article.
"Look at the bright side," Duo said after a moment. "You can still go to the hotel, and you'll have the whole place to yourself."
Quatre simply threw the magazine on the table and stood up. "Excuse me, I need to go fire some publicists."
Duo watched Quatre disappear behind the studio door and when he was sure Quatre was busy with his business calls, he took out his cellphone and quickly dialed a number. "Relena's article worked. Ready to move to phase two."
"Understood," replied Heero on the other end of the line. "I'll get Trowa there in twenty minutes."
"And then we'll start the final phase of operation Endless Dream." Duo grinned.
"I hate that name."
"Hey, we needed a corny name so we can tease them about it when they finally get together."
"Fine," said Heero. "Twenty minutes."
"You know what, Heero?" asked Duo before Heero could hang up. "If Quatre is aggravated enough he might take all of us to check the cheesy hotel with him."
"That would be detrimental to the plan. We need Quatre and Trowa to spend time alone together and be able to acknowledge their feelings for each other," replied Heero flatly.
Duo lowered his voice to a whisper. "We'll just make ourselves unavailable. We could have some quality time too."
There was a pause and then Heero said, "Agreed. Trowa is here, moving to phase two."
The call ended and Duo put the cellphone back in his pocket. He leaned back and while he waited for Heero and Trowa to get here he started to plot how to get Wufei and Relena together. "Operation Dragon Drop," he murmured. Yeah, that was a good name.
